Double Glazing Knowledge

DGCos (Company No. 5860672. )

To give it its official name, “The Double Glazing and Conservatory Quality Assurance Ombudsman Scheme” was set up on 28th June 2006, although it was a dormant company until 30/12/2008. It also changed its name on 28th August 2007 from “The Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme” to include Quality Assurance.

It has ambitious goals, being set up to raise the standards of the double glazing industry, to protect people buying double glazing, and to provide independent review of complaints through their Ombudsman scheme.

Be aware through, this is not an ombudsman for the whole double glazing industry; it is in fact an ombudsman for customers using their members. In other words, don’t think they will resolve your issues if you haven’t used one of their installers.

Being fronted by Nick Ross, the BBC TV presenter, they have an impressive pedigree for a new business, and an impressive web site, sales inquiry system. Their installers are accredited, must offer customers deposit protection along with 10 year insurance backed guarantees.

There will be companies claiming to be DGcos members inappropriately; either verify their status or check direct on their web site www.dgcos.org.uk
