Amy Devine reported for the Daily Record in Scotland that a boss in a local double glazing company decided to a male model to promote his company, having had complaints that his advert featuring a woman’s breasts (covered with a flower) was inappropriate.
Derrick Findlay from 1st Choice Glazing wanted to get something off his chest when he said,
“We thought it was ludicrous when we were told to remove the adverts. The ad was meant to be tongue in cheek.”
May be I am getting too old or I’ve been in the industry too long. I was far more interested in the ugly face drain caps, the mitred weld joints and the bolt on horns which are so outdated and scream ugly plastic windows, that I didn’t notice the model let alone what gender they were!
What do you think?
Is it inappropriate, is it distracting for male drivers and demeaning to women or just a gimmick and over reaction?
Will there be as many complaints for the half naked male model?
