The papers confirm Tesco selling windows

The Times today confirm earlier reports that Tesco are the new double glazing superpower, offering homeowners clear pricing, no salesmen, and 100% guarantees.

On its Tesco Windows website, the company says: “We are deliberately setting ourselves apart from other suppliers and simplifying the whole process of buying double glazing … With Tesco Windows and Doors there is no salesman, no hard sell and no price deception. We are unique in that we believe in transparent pricing, therefore our guide prices are published on our website unlike other double glazing providers.”

What do you think, is it good news for homeowners or bad news for small independent family companies that have been arround for years?

look forward to tesco spending millions of pounds on marketing it will make people more aware but when they see the prices they will look for someone like me who have twice the range of composite doors at half the price and fitted by our own fitters not sub contractors. i can only see this going pearshaped

Yes I agree, I think TESCO have a very poor range and are far to expensive! I would go to a more specialist company to buy double glazing.

TESCO should just stick to just supermarkets.

We’ve all herd the saying “Jack of all trades…”
